Week of Sept. 7, 2026: Our Most Read Reporting
Welcome to our weekly sum-up. Every Monday we send out a short summary of the last week’s officers that have landed on Colorado’s Peace Officer Standards and Training public database of law enforcement misconduct and actions. These actions from POST are not necessarily only those that have happened in the last week, but those that have been added, and consist of any other context we could find. Additionally are officers with otherwise obvious misconduct from around the same time.

This week, we had no new officers added, and only one set of previously requested documents delivered. So, besides that, here is a collection of our most read articles and other recent work.

Officer updates:

Our records requests to municipalities and law enforcement agencies sometimes take longer than we expect, or POST adds officers late in the week and so we don’t receive documents before the weekend, — both of which mean we didn’t get documents in time for the newsletter. When we have updates on previous officers from these documents, we’ll put them here.

  • Terminated for cause as a deputy with Lincoln County Sheriff's Office on Aug. 13
  • Received a credibility report on Sept. 2 from Lincoln County SO
  • According to the termination letter, Bantock drank before firearms training and lied to superiors when they asked
