Accountability for police misconduct is behind a paywall in Colorado — we tear it down.

Blue Surveillance is a nonprofit that supports accountability of police misconduct through reporting, research, and public awareness. By acquiring relevant public records through costly and time-consuming requests, we have created a freely accessible central database to assist in overcoming the public’s limitations in budgets and staff resources.

Donate now to help us drag the information out of public records offices and into the public eye.

Database

One-stop shop of all publicly accessible information, reports and documents about any law enforcement official that commits an offense requiring notification to the public by the state — and any other misconduct we find. Searchable, filterable, and free to use.

Transparency

Information at Blue Surveillance is either public record or public-facing. We request public records ourselves so you can trust they are authentic and unmarred — except potential redacting if an agency failed to do so.
