Blue Surveillance has an array of tools planned that will make police misconduct more transparent, make it easier for anyone to track it, and emphasize just how often it happens.

Currently, our main priority and most developed tool is our Blue Surveillance Database. Soon, we will have a few more tools available.

The Database:

The Blue Surveillance Database is our highest priority and most detailed tool. Find aggregated information for every officer who has had misconduct reported to the state and some public related public records too. With your donations or subscriptions, we aim to have public records for all officers moving forwards.

Notifications:

While our database is very useful for research, it can be tedious to always have to check if something new has been added. So, we've created a notification system.

Sign-up for Notifications subscription and you gain access to automated emails to your inbox within 30 minutes of any officer you choose being added to the POST database. Or, an automated email for any agency that adds an officer to the database.

Court Tracker:

Sign-up to our Court Tracker subscription and gain access to our tool that notifies you of the next court date for any agency's officer, or specific officer, with criminal charge action on POST — along with any other officers we become aware of. You can choose to be notified for a mix of up to 5 agencies or officers, and be emailed the week before then next court date, the day before, or the day of.

Employment Tracker:

Sign-up to our employment tracker and receive notifications tracking the employment status of virtually any individual officer, or an agency's, based on POST's database.

Virtually because we've aggregated this officer list from scratch from various sources all originating from the state, and though it is large, we cannot guarantee it is exhaustive. Our list consists of approximately 63,000 officers past and present, with just over 19,000 currently employed. This includes certified, non-certified, police departments, sheriff's offices, and some civilian positions.
