Alamosa County Sheriff’s Detention Sergeant Terminated for Masturbating On-Duty
Sergeant Christopher Valesey had documented history of sexual harassment allegations
"Guess what I just did,” is the question Sergeant Christopher Valesey asked a deputy that triggered an internal investigation at the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation lasted less than a month and ended in Valesey’s termination as he admitted he masturbated in a locked office in the jail while on-duty, when four deputies, kitchen staff, medical personnel and more than 70 inmates were present in the building.
According to the internal affairs investigation report, Valesey and another male deputy were working master control in the Alamosa County jail in early June when Valesey entered the room and asked the deputy, “Guess what I just did.” The report alleges that he then stated, “I just blew a load in the sergeant’s office.”
When Valesey was first questioned in the investigation about his statements, the report states he “immediately became visibly uncomfortable,” and looked towards the ceiling for several moments before he answered by nodding his head. Eventually he said he “made a mistake.”
According to his disciplinary action form, this is not the first complaint of alleged sexual harassment.
“Valesey has been the subject of multiple allegations involving inappropriate sexual conduct in the workplace, including alleged sexual harassment, repeated sexually explicit comments, and unsolicited verbal discussions regarding his sex life, sexual preferences, and other intimate sexual matters,” the form states. “These conversations were inappropriate for the workplace, particularly given his supervisory position...”
It continues that “multiple female employees have expressed that they are unwilling or uncomfortable working with Sgt. Valesey because of his behavior.” The first date related to this behavior is September of 2025.
Valesey was terminated June 29 for violations of standard of conduct policies including ethics, efficiency, performance and conduct.
