Week of May 11, 2026: Adams County Sheriff’s Division Chief Retires After 39 Years, But While Under Investigation
Welcome to my weekly sum-up. Every Monday I send out a short summary of the last week’s officers that have landed on Colorado’s Peace Officer Standards and Training public database of law enforcement misconduct and actions. They are not necessarily only actions that have happened in the last week, but those that have been added, and consist of any other context I could find. Additionally are officers with otherwise obvious misconduct from around the same time.

This past week POST did not add any officers until late Sunday, so we have few details to work with as there was no time to send out record requests. The few details available are below, and rounding this out is some local coverage on police, courts and public records from the last week.

But First, We are officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit!

We received our status from the IRS a month or so ago, but we hadn’t gotten around to officially announcing it. On our front page you can find our donate button which currently works through Stripe — the same as our subscriptions. Any donation is incredibly helpful and goes straight straight towards paying for public records, server expenses and bills, and keeping us running.

For ongoing donations, consider becoming a paid subscriber! It’s all the same content for now, but every contribution helps us acquire documents, keep you informed and misconduct held accountable.
