Blue Surveillance Florida Database

Below will eventually be multiple tables, but for now, one:

"Florida Officer Disciplinary Actions" aggregates Florida Department of Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Standards and Training (CJSTC) discipline cases. It consists of disciplinary actions against officers with misconduct defined here as per Florida statutes.

Updates are checked for daily.

The data diary below will explain some nuances of the databases.

Data Diary

  • This is discipline from CJSTC only, not from the officer's agency, and specifically only while employed with an agency.
  • These cases populate as the discipline is finalized, which seems to be every few months in batches, not when the actions requiring discipline happened.
  • This is not reflective of all misconduct of Florida officers, but that of which has been disciplined by CJSTC from Jan.1, 2012 — according to CJSTC — up to today's date.
  • There will be repeated names as one officer can have multiple disciplinary actions — the database is anchored around listing each unique action.
  • Each action has the agency, first, middle and last name of the officer, discipline date, employment type — such as correctional or law enforcement — the offense, the type of discipline — such revocation of certification or denial of application for certification — and the longer explanation of the discipline.

Besides that, please feel free to email me at database@bluesurveillance.org with questions on the data, inaccuracies noticed, and if there are further clarifications needed on the documents, gathering methods, or more.

And if publishing data or documents from this database — or it's been helpful for research — please attribute and link to Blue Surveillance.
