Week of Jan. 12, 2026: Ryan Gates, Zacheria Hahn, Howard Prince
Welcome to my weekly sum-up. Every Monday I send out a short summary of the last week’s officers that have landed on Colorado’s Peace Officer Standards and Training public database of law enforcement misconduct and actions. They are not necessarily all actions that have happened in the last week, but those that have been added, and consist of any other context I could find.

This week was mostly terminations and resignations with a few veteran officers of decades included.

Ryan Gates (CO-118-192)

  • Resigned in lieu of termination for cause as a deputy on Dec. 17 from Teller County Sheriff’s Office
  • Started with TCSO in December of 2022
  • No known previous agencies
  • No previous actions

  • Credibility report from SCSO on Dec. 30, 2025
  • Previous truth issue from Colorado State Patrol for “dishonesty” about damage to the front bumper of his patrol car. Claimed he inspected the bumper and saw no damage and that he inspected again on his next shift start. Afterwards admitted he did not inspect the car before his shift. Internal affairs report found him to be dishonest. Report was completed and sustained June 9, 2022
