Greeley Officer Arrested for DUI in Loveland
Officer Jonathan Tollefson was arrested on March 16 for drinking and driving with a BAC of 0.23
Greeley Police Officer Jonathan Tollefson was arrested around 1 a.m. in Loveland for charges of driving while under the influence of alcohol, obstructing a peace officer, failing to drive in one lane, and driving a vehicle with blood alcohol content higher than 0.08 on Monday.
According to his arrest affidavit, Loveland Police officers pulled Tollefson over for weaving over lanes multiple times. Responding officers said he had bloodshot eyes and the car smelled like alcohol. Tollefson refused to exit the vehicle when asked and was removed by officers and handcuffed. He blew a 0.230 in a breath test.
Tollefson has previously been with Johnstown Police Department and Windsor Police Department. At Windsor, he won an Officer of the Year award from the Windsor Optimist Club in 2008 according to the Greeley Tribune. The award was for his work in traffic enforcement, specifically DUIs.
Greeley Police Department did not respond to a call for comment before publishing.
